It was almost five years ago when Julia and I got the call every parent dreads. Our daughter Amy had been in a serious accident and flown to intensive care in a coma. Life forever changed that day and nothing could have prepared us for the journey ahead, a journey with an unknown destination and one, which, if not for the amazing support of friends and family, would have been impossible to make alone.

Julia, Amy and myself recognize that everyone shares many similar challenges and the busyness of life can make it difficult to spend time with those dear to us, hence the theme of the show.

So - on April 13th you are invited to bring your friends and family out for a fun night paying tribute to how precious they are, and while you're there help us celebrate Amy's upcoming five-year accident anniversary and her amazing recovery.

Although the actual date is a few months away I liked the idea of celebrating when the emerging new life of the season resembles the rebirth Amy has experienced - plus we can all celebrate spring itself.

As for the actual show - The stage will be filled with many close friends, both old and new. Medderick, a talented singer/songwriter and Steve Gidora from Wheat in the Barley will kick off the night. Later in the set me and the band will join in to perform tunes from Medderick & Steve’s Jokers & Prophets CD. Jan Sentell will be singing some background vocals and there is a chance of a couple more surprise guests.

After a break, I will take the stage with the band for a musical adventure consisting of tunes from my various CD releases along with some new originals and a few favourite covers. There is a dance floor for those who want to shake it up so bring your dancing shoes.

I am also happy to inform you that a new, improved policy at the Legion allows both musicians and fans to wear hats during events, so you can keep your style groove on.

The band is Lee Oliphant on bass, Shawn Soucy on drums and very special guest Darryl Havers from Brickhouse on Keys.

I’m planning to perform a tune called A Song For All of My Friends as it works so well to support the theme of the event and has even more meaning now since my dear friend Bob Wishinski just passed away. There will be other tunes as well in memory of Bob and I’m hoping he will drop by in spirit to share the night with us.
